This autumn, discover the enchanting underwater world of the Surfer and the Mermaid at the Arts Centre Gold Coast.
The Surfer and the Mermaid was first staged at the Bleach Festival in 2012, before featuring in an acclaimed 26 performance season at Sydney’s Bondi Pavilion. The award winning play is an adaptation of Gold Coast writer Tim Baker’s much loved book and is brought to life in spectacular style with images from renowned surf photographer Ted Grambeau. It depicts a magical world under the waves in which a naive young surfer must win the trust of a mermaid and her marine friends before he can return to the surface.
With its powerful environmental message, this unique play is sure to delight audiences of all ages when it comes to the Arts Centre Gold Coast - not far from our Gold Coast family accommodation - from 26 February – 2 March 2013.
