Gold Coast Festival Of Cycling

Take part in a two-day community-based event that will feature free live entertainment, trade shows, amusement rides, kids mini Frodo and a Kids Active Zone.

Expect a family oriented weekend filled with fun and a slew of festivities.

Created by Robbie McEwen - who spent his professional career racing through Tour de France and Gran Fondo’s Italy - the Gold Coast Festival of Cycling has the main objective of becoming one of the most sought after cycling events in Australia. It also aims to attract numerous visitors from all over the world.

Elite riders as well as cycling enthusiasts find the event a must-attend festival.

McEwen specially designed the Gold Coast Festival of Cycling as a tour and not a race.

The Criterium Course promises to be an exhilarating experience that will follow an 850 metre circuit around the Metricon Stadium Plaza Drive.

The Fun Run is a family-friendly event that will start at Metricon Stadium, run through Royal Pines and then finish back to Metricon Stadium.

The Piccolo Fondo is a less intense course that will lead participants to flatter roads as well as in the foothills of Beechmont.

The Tourist Ride is a short course that is 27 kilometres in length.

After the course, participants will be welcomed by a park filled with activity and excitement. Massage therapists and a dedicated hydrate station will be waiting for all the harried but pleased participants.

The Gold Coast Festival of Cycling will take place on September 27 to 28, 2014 at Emerald Lakes, Lakeside Drive, Carrara. The event is a quick drive from our Surfers Paradise Holiday Apartments.
