Witness elite crews from all over Australia push themselves and their boats to the limit when they compete in the Round 1 of the Navy Surf Rowers National Premiership.
Be part of the on-shore crowd that delights at the sight of dramatic surf boat action. Expect to also see thrilling Navy helicopters fly over the beach and perform rescue displays.
The entire two days of the event will also feature a mixture of crowd-pleasing race formats, a splendid `shotgun start,’ the daredevil `expression session,’ and 35 boats simultaneously hitting the water.
Traditional surf lifesaving vessels and surf boats are manned by four rowers. A `sweep’ allows the boat to be steered with a tiller.
